The global marking of the uncertain future faced by those working in live events was a reminder of the hundreds of thousands of people left behind by the easing of restrictions.
Having had October 1 to aim for, venues, production companies and the thousands of companies who supply them had to face a new future when the Government tightened restrictions in late September.
Last Thursday evening was time to back the UK’s 1m highly skilled live events industry professionals, who have had no work since lockdown with little likelihood of restarting until Spring 2021.
High profile supporters such as rock band Radiohead and iconic venues including the London Eye lent their support.
Organisers have called on the Government to extend the support available to the events industry and provide clarity on when the sector will be able to reopen.
