The Osborn Communications team are celebrating after being crowned start-up business of the year at the prestigious Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards.

The fast-growing communications agency, which delivers compelling content to help clients to sell across the UK and internationally, scooped the prize at a ceremony held at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Thursday.

Organisers staged the 2021 Chamber of Commerce Awards to celebrate the achievements of the region’s businesses “as they have attempted to reboot, rebuild, and rebound” from the pandemic. Open to businesses that have been trading for less than two years the start-up award was for companies which had demonstrated resilience, recovery planning and innovations to deliver outstanding customer service.

Launched in May 2020, Osborn Communications has grown a team of content specialists to deliver public relations, digital marketing and content for a range of clients across the West Midlands and around the UK to reach target audiences. The business has also expanded to support clients in delivering key projects for international customers with large target audiences.

The Chamber of Commerce award citation said: “The judges praised Osborn Communications for a truly commendable submission which mirrored and conveyed all the aspects they were looking for, from growth to community-based work, supporting firms rooted in the region and demonstrating Black Country pragmatism and determination by representing the region beyond our borders both nationally and internationally, all in such a short space of time.”

Director Chris Leggett said: “Winning such a prestigious award so early on and from a renowned business group like the Black Country Chamber of Commerce with a heritage dating more than a century means a great deal to everyone involved in Osborn.

“With strong Black Country roots, our first client was in the region and the core of our business is in promoting businesses in the area to the widest possible audiences to help them succeed.

“It has been a challenging period for every start-up business, as highlighted by the strong quality of the other finalist businesses. We are grateful to every client for putting their trust in us and look forward to building on this recognition with continued growth and further success.

“I’m delighted for every member of the team for their support in winning these awards. As a West Midlands-based business with a growing reach it means a lot to see our work recognised in the region where we live and work.”

Osborn Communications was also a finalist for the start-up award at the 2021 West Midlands Business Masters Awards, launched by news website TheBusinessDesk.com to celebrate the companies in the region which have achieved outstanding results over the past 12 months. The winners were announced on Thursday night at the Macdonald Burlington hotel in Birmingham.
