Osborn marketing audit helps tattoo studio plan growth

A new tattoo studio has benefitted from marketing and communications advice from Osborn Communications to attract new customers.

The communications agency carried out a marketing audit for Ink EightyEight in Walsall Wood to help business owner Dan Weller establish his studio, which opened in March, in the local area.

As part of the marketing audit, Osborn Communications director Chris Leggett met with Dan at his studio to discuss his work and plans.

Chris carried out a review of his business aims, current activity and experience to date, offering open-ended advice to grow engagement with the studio, reach new audiences and increase reputation.

Dan commented: “After 16 years as a tattoo artist, I thought it was about time I opened up my own studio. I already have a loyal customer base but would like to reach new customers, so I was keen to take advantage of marketing advice to do this.

“I found speaking to Chris at Osborn really helpful. I have lots of exciting plans to grow my business in the future so am looking forward to implementing the suggestions as we grow.”

The audit’s review of current activity looked at social media usage, referrals, media coverage and local relations in order to suggest new opportunities in these areas. The audit also covered content suggestions for the tattoo studio’s new website.

Chris commented: “Dan has already made a great start to building up his business, and there are plenty of opportunities for him and the team to grow further. He is already showcasing his work really well on social media, receiving positive client feedback and gaining great reviews so the future is looking bright for Ink EightyEight.”

The marketing audit was funded by Walsall Business Support, which aims to help grow business and skills in Walsall. Walsall Business Support awarded Ink EightyEight a £1500 grant towards its start-up costs, including the purchase of furniture and specialist equipment.
