More than 20 firms got advice on how to write successful award entries during an online workshop delivered by Osborn Communications.
Companies joined the video session on Tuesday for the second of two free briefings to help firms prepare submissions for this year’s Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards, which close for entries on September 16.
Osborn director Chris Leggett talked attendees through a series of 12 practical tips on shaping an award entry based on the agency’s experience, which has achieved 133 finalist placings for clients, with 30 wins to date.
Reflecting the limited time for companies to shape their entries, the workshop was billed as being for “people in a hurry”.
As well as breaking down the criteria of a category for this year’s awards, to show how businesses can aim to score points from judges, Chris shared advice on the best ways of preparing the required information, the need for data to be included and practical knowhow on keeping to the word limits.
The digital event, staged with Marie Shuker, the Chamber’s events & project officer, generated positive feedback from attendees.
Typical comments included: “Thank you for the information – very useful.” “Thanks Chris and Marie, very useful.” “Thank you Chris and Marie, very helpful information.”
Today, Marie returned with Chris Leggett from @osborncontent to host our online Award Writing workshop! We look forward to seeing all your amazing achievements this autumn 🎇
