A familiar face has rejoined the Black Country Chamber of Commerce as director of a new communications agency to support businesses as they rebuild following the Covid pandemic.
Chris Leggett, who held the role of director of marketing and communications for Express & Star publisher Midland News Association, has established public relations and marketing agency Osborn.
Osborn has joined the Chamber as a start-up business to grow its profile and network with the membership. From 2012 until he left the company last December, Chris was the Express & Star’s lead Chamber representative through its Platinum membership.
As well as hosting Platinum meetings and Chamber events at the offices in Queen Street, Wolverhampton, he had co-ordinated activity to encourage members to engage with England’s biggest selling regional newspaper.
Chris said he was looking forward to being part of Black Country Chamber of Commerce life after a break. He said: “I have missed being part of the Chamber, having made good working relationships and even friendships with the staff and member colleagues.
“I have admired the work which chief executive Corin Crane and his team have delivered since the lockdown, raising a strong voice for Black Country businesses. I look forward to engaging with the membership and playing a part in Chamber life again as we all look to the future.”
Launched following the spring lockdown, Osborn is already growing a client roster of businesses in the Black Country, Birmingham and London.

Chris says they are looking to reach audiences using news coverage and targeted marketing activity, all through digital and traditional media platforms.
Chris said: “I began Osborn to provide clients with expert support as they rebuild following the Covid outbreak. The clients who have come on board already include Black Country success stories.
“Whether they are established brands or start-ups, customers are supported through a range of challenges around communicating with external and internal audiences. I am offering experienced and practical help to deliver results for existing and new clients as they plan for 2021 and beyond.”
As well as leading the marketing and communications team at the MNA, he also played significant roles in the Express & Star photo archive project, which saw thousands of historic photos digitised using National Lottery funding, and the Ladder apprenticeships drive, which helped 1200 people secure work. Both projects were supported by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
