Beacon Centre for the Blind has become the third good cause to receive support from Osborn Communications’ four acts of kindness campaign.

The team at Osborn Communications have used their skills and expertise as an award-winning communications agency to provide Beacon with PR support pro bono as part of its fourth anniversary celebrations.

Osborn worked with Beacon to create and deliver news content to promote its 150th anniversary and upcoming anniversary ball to its target media.

As part of its support, Osborn arranged for Dudley MP Sonia Kumar to visit Beacon’s head office, where she toured the site and spoke with colleagues and volunteers.

Beacon Centre for the Blind supports people living with a range of sight conditions across the Black Country, offering a wide range of support services and activities to empower and connect people living with sight loss.

The agency, which provides PR and media relations support services to businesses to boost their brand, is supporting four good causes, one for each of the years of progress since it was founded in 2020.

Clare Knowles, of Osborn Communications, said: “It’s been rewarding to use our expertise to support Beacon in promoting their 150th anniversary.

“Beacon has a fantastic programme of events over the next 12 months and are making a real impact supporting people across the region living with sight loss. We wish them all the best as they celebrate their special anniversary.”

Beacon Centre for the Blind head of impact and external income Helen Brown added: “Beacon is delighted to have benefited from one of Osborn Communications’ acts of kindness. Their expertise, insightful advice, and friendly approach have been a pleasure to work with. They have provided us with some fantastic ideas to take forward as we celebrate our 150th anniversary, and we are truly grateful for their support.”

To date, Osborn’s four acts of kindness campaign has seen the YMCA Black Country Group receive charitable support with a donation to their 180 Degree Fund, launched as part of the national YMCA’s 180th anniversary, while a donation was made to Midlands Air Ambulance at a charity ball in October organised by Osborn client, Lord Combustion Services.

The ball raised £20,000 to fund the charity’s blood delivery car for a further two years as well as the equivalent of six air ambulance missions and seven critical care car missions.

Osborn Communications was recently named as finalist for the micro agency of the year prize at the PRmoment Awards 2025, having made the shortlist for the sales and marketing prize at the 2025 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards.
